The second New England regional meeting will be held this coming Sunday, February 11th, at 1:00 PM in Dighton MA. We are holding it at the same location as our first meeting, with plans for the March meeting to be held in Connecticut. As usual, all are invited to attend the meeting (NANFA member or not). The lineup for the meeting is as follows (but is somewhat tentative):
A roundtable discussion of what people are keeping for natives, and what their interests are (breeding, conservation, research, etc).
Getting more ideas for the "New England Regional Native Fishes Guidebook" (something similar to the Florida group).
A video on the Striped Bass (Morone saxatilis) in Massachusetts.
A talk on the importance of locality data when collecting fishes.
As usual, there will be coffee and snacks, and more door prizes. All in all, a good time. We hope to see everyone there from the last meeting (I know the CT guys have a fish auction down their way, and can't make it). However there are new people coming, who weren't at the first meeting.
See you on the 11th,
