Both the cichlids and the tetras should be easy to get almost anywhere
in the area. A place that is easy to access is Landa Park in New
Braunfells. If you get a Texas fishing license, and a seine (1/4"
mesh, 4' maximum depth, 12 maximum length), it is legal, though you
should stop-in-the park office. Los Olmos Creek in the NW side of town
also has both, as well as other interesting fishes like Dionda
episcopa, Etheostoma lepidum, Notropis amabalis, Cyprinella venusta and
others. Landa park has mollies, also (they're not native, but
introduced).
