NANFA-L-- Speaking of saltwater- Gobiescocidae question

I was goofing off in the collection the other day when I found a Gobiescocid "skilletfish" from the Gulf of Mexico. The locality for these fish was in a "pond" near Mobile. I wonder if this pond could have been freshwater. I have heard of clingfishes in freshwater streams of Mexico, on the Pacific side, but never in freshwaters along the Gulf coast. Has anyone ever collected "skilletfish" in freshwater? Has anyone observed them in aquaria?
