Well, I guess that means you'll be attending our Desert Springs Action
Committee trips from now on! Cool, be good to have some new faces.
Incase any of you are not aware we have a couple of trips each year where
we head into the desert and undertake some type of work with either the
Fish and Wildlife Service folks in Ash Meadows and/or the Nevada Division
of Wildlife helping them on native fish projects. The Ash Meadows trips
are always on the Friday-Saturday of the Columbus Day weekend, the other
trip is usually during March or April. Anyone is welcome to come along
(especially Casper) and we may be able to organise rides from airports etc
etc. These trips are a lot of fun and allow you to get up close to a
group of endangered fishes that few people get to enjoy in close
proximity. Ash Meadows has a tremendous place in the history of
conservation in the United States and is a biological treasure chest. We
have some details up on the website-in-http://www.pupfish.net/dsac/ and
there are tons of information and pictures on the area there too.
