It sounds like the pike is not adjusting, and my guess is that a big part
of that may be the size of your aquarium. If you have a standard 29
gallon aquarium, the dimensions on that are 30x13. You have a fish you
describe as 9" long in there. He has 4" of play from front to back --
this is not a lot. (Admittedly, its a lot better than the 18" gar I once
saw in a 55 gallon....). Consider getting him a larger tank.
