I hate to be a stick-in-the-mud, but do you realize pompano get 25" long? And are highly active oceanic species that like a lot of swimming room and schooling buddies? So if you do want to keep it "alive and growing" the best thing to do is either buy a huge aquarium (>1000gal), donate it to a public aquarium, or release it. Leave pompano and other large growing species for public aquariums. There's a good reason they aren't commonly available in the pet trade.
