I have to agree with Lee. The fish's physiology just exceeds the carrying
capacity the aquarists have given the fish. They're putting off too much
nitrogen for the system, and the fish become immuno compromised, allowing
for infection, and potentially death. You could grow a 12" bluegill in a 10
gallon tank if it was on a flow through system to a sump.
