Well, that's where the reputation bit comes in. Of course, how then do
you get one? I don't have the answer. But it sounds to me like the
university system is a <expletive> racket. It was better when you had
to have a - what is the word I want, somebody rich who indulges you,
like they had in the old days. Not a sponsor, but the same idea -
starts with a P I think...damn, it's getting late. Well hey, no papers
to grade! Might as well stay up a bit longer.

Thanks for bearing with me Peter, Dave, and Bruce-ter. Your posts have
been enlightening as usual.

It's like the old saying goes, "If you loan somebody $20 and you never
see them again, it was worth it!" Unlike funding a project on mouth
suction. Oooh! It just occurred to me! The Masters and Johnson
Institute is missing a great opportunity here!

Oh yeah, PATRON is the word I was looking for.
