I've found the better tropical fish forums to be an excellent source for disease and treatment for my natives. When it comes right down to it native fish disease and treatment isn't much different from tropical. I spend time on forums where many participants have thousands of dollars invested in fish in each tank. Many of these dedicated aquarist have quite a bit of experience with identification and treatment of common fish problems. A brief word of caution though. I would look for forums that have specialist or a niche. Look for forums where high dollar fish are discussed and avoid forums that simply discuss one type of fish.

Thanks for being so positive, but I am not easily discouraged. I was once a newbie on my dart frog mailing list 5 years ago. I killed my first frog....I had to change my ways a few times, but now I have over 50 of them and people come to ME for advice. As you probably well know, you'd have to be pretty lucky to start out in a new hobby like this with all the correct information....because chances are all the most convenient places to get information are incorrect. But I shall overcome! :-P

Becky :)
