NANFA-L-- Stuck in the mud

See Todd Crail's signature block, below. It was back-in-the NANFA convention, in Chatanooga, in '98. There was a collecting trip--a whole caravan of cars, led by David Etnier, taking us along the back roads of somewhere in Tennessee. Etnier's minivan got stuck in the mud, which was really inconvenient, because only he knew where we were going or how to get there. I hadn't bothered to take my big rubber waders off, and so I started pushing the van out of the slop. I pushed with all my might, and finally the van pulled free, and I fell forward in the mud.

When I got up, Etnier and the whole caravan had driven away. I looked around and thought I was all alone, without a cell phone and with no idea of where I was or how to get back.

>From behind me, I heard Chris Scharpf say: "You're not getting in my car like that."

For future reference, if you ever find yourself in really muddy waders, you can turn them inside out and they won't get the car dirty.
