NANFA-L-- Questions from a new list member
Welcome to the list Arie.

The best place to find out about rules and regs are on the state DNR websites.  For New York, I think this link will have you good to go:

http://www.dec.state.ny.us/website/dfwmr/fish/fishregs/fishregsextra.html

While many of the more organized trips _seem_ to occurr in the central and southeast US because those people are active on the list, there are many NANFA folks up in your neck of the woods.  Posting to the list is one way to run across them, and possibly some folks have contacted you already.  Another way of finding people is contacting one of the regional reps nearest to you.

I'm not sure what part of NY you're in, but you'll see you've got folks all around you.

Greetings,

I have been lurking for a while, trying to get a taste of  what goes on
in this group.

you seem to be a fun bunch, but the center of your activities appear
located a ways away from where I am. I am living in NY.

I recently went upsate where I collected some Blacknose Dace on private
property.
I want to do more, but need information about collecting. If anyone can
illuminate me as to rules and regs etc...

I also like native aquatic plants, and grow many of them a well.
