I got my baby longnose gar from Paul Sachs-in-Sachs Systems about 15 months ago. He was 4 inches long then. I had him in my 110 gal tank until this May by which time he was 10 inches. Now he resides in my pond outside. He was a beautiful gold and black until he went outside. Now he is a mottled brown and black, looks kind of like a snake. I never was able to get him to take prepared food. He does love his goldfish and minnows though. The dog learned quickly that the pond was not for drinking from anymore.
