I have some minnows from a tributary of the Big Sandy in eastern Kentucky.
After puzzling over them for a few months, I noticed that the biggest one is
getting some light blue around the edges of the pelvic, anal, and lower lobe
of the tail fins and has two dark streaks between the first few rays of the
dorsal fin-it finally looks like something-matches the pictures of satinfin
shiners really well. I have not seen any mention of them occurring outside
the Atlantic drainage-should they be found in the Big Sandy? Could I be
confusing this fish with something else?
