Within the framework of this discussion, YES. Need, Greed, Murderous
lust - these are not relevant to the dynamics of an ecosystem. Big fish
eats little fish - who cares WHY? Or WHETHER, in the grand scheme.
It's only when the little fish is somebody's prized pet that anybody
pays attention. So, my daughter gets raped and murdered? As the old
saying goes, "A billion Chinese don't give a damn."
