The coils in the ground can be done but I don't know how deep or how much
volume of water you need in the system. The company I work for designs
systems for that but as a alternative to cooling towers for compressor based
A/C systems. Even though the cost to run can be much lower, you need a lot
of land and and then there are maintinance issues. I think you will see
more of the with the "Green Building" requirements that more counties are
pushing.

You can't just bury a coil and expect it to give you the desired results.
You still have to do the research, calculations and survey your yard to
determine how deep and how much tubing you need to bury, and deep enough so
it won't freeze in the winter.
