I met Ron-in-the Ann Arbor Convention, he was in the group I seined with. I
set with him, Dorothy (his wife), Klaus Suter, Rob Carillio and Matt Ashton at
the Banquet. It's really hard to picture someone passed on, when last you saw
them... they were so full of life.

I guess that's the tough part of meeting NANFA folks. You meet all these
awesome people who you'd probably become great friends with if you lived
closer. It makes it seem so sudden when something in their life changes
enough to make it out on the newswire.

My condolences to those who knew him well.

Todd

Subject: NANFA-L-- In Memoriam: Ron Humbert

FYI: NANFA member Ron Humbert of Lombard, IL passed away on Sunday,
November 13, 2005. He was suffering from pancreatic cancer.

Some of you may remember him from the Arkansas convention.

He continued to be active in NANFA, Chicago Herpetological Society and
his teaching activities-in-Morton Arboretum and the local school, as
his health permitted. He had helped out with the NANFA table-in-Spring
Brook Nature Center in June, 2005. He was quite active with the IL-IN
chapter and organized several collecting trips in the area over the
past several years.

A wake will be held on Wednesday and Thursday (Nov 16-17, 2005)-in-the
Brust Funeral Home in Lombard.
