It wouldn't surprise me if the snakeheads took down the bass population. Considering that they've only been in the Potomac system for two years, they appear to have reproduced at a phenomenal rate. This looks like it's really going to be a disaster. Like Boiga irregularis and Guam.

A strange part of me almost hopes it takes down the bass populations. With
all the hype, I almost wonder if it wouldn't be _more_ harmful if there was
no noticeable effect. People might then dump something that really effects
the ecosystem as a whole, like rusty crayfish or bighead carp, which
severely interrupt the whole food network instead of just picking from the
top.

Another weird part of me wants to start a gangsta rap band called "Chann'a
Wit Attitude". The debut? "Straight Outta Crofton".
