The Dusky darters I brought home from Urbana have spawned. I think a couple
days ago from the development I see in the eggs. I wintered them in my cold
room with temps as low as the high thirties. Then placed them in a 4 ft long
10 inch wide riffle tank two or three weeks ago. Today I was sifting thru the
gravel with my fingers and spotted the eggs. They aren't adhesive like
rainbow eggs, they're 1.5 mm in diameters, and the yokes are clear, not
yellow like other darter eggs I've worked with. I,ve never bred Percinas
before hopefully I'll be able to raise them. I'll report on the list how I'm
doing.
