Leo, I wasn't pulling your leg! Someone else was pulling ours! :-) It
was really a story in the Seattle newspaper from the 1920s. I have a
photocopy of that article, plus another on supposed dugongs in the waters
of Puget Sound. There's also a photograph of one of the supposed animals,
and it has a human-like head with sharp teeth, and a seal-like body. The
photo is in a photocopy of a photocopy, etc, so it is very blurry. And the
article text is hard to read in places, but it is a gas to read. Perhaps I
can scan it if you're interested.
