In referring to using grape vine in a tank, I did not mean that I intended
it to be live and growing like the pothos that has been mentioned. I meant
to use cut pieces of the woody vine to create a tangle of "roots" in the
tank. I think that the texture of the bark would provide an interesting
effect in the tank and since the vines are relatively flexible when water
logged, they could be bent into an interesting mass. Of course, they also
can be found in any length and thicknesses ranging from pencil-width to
about 8 inches in diameter. My question is in regards to any leaching of
chemicals that may affect water quality or appearance. I can't find
anything in the literature about it. Anyone have knowledge of any problems?
