NANFA-- New territory...or what?

Hi Gang

I have been conditioning a tank at work for a few weeks getting it
ready for fish. Today, I brought in the fish from several tanks at home, in
2's & 3's. All of these species live together in various combinations at
the house with no problems. However, once I put them into the new tank,
most of them showed semi-aggressive behavior within an hour, and have kept
it up most of the day. Is this their way of establishing new territory, or
just a stress reaction to the transport, or what? It sure is strange.
Thanks for any insights.
