I know here in Ohio, the EPA has called for removal of two dams on the
Cuyahoga
River to improve water flow in the summer. Both were built during the
construction
of the canals. The first dam in Kent, OH., is about a 25-35 ft dam and
the city is
fighting its demise vehently since it is a historical landmark. The
second, in Monroe
Falls, OH. (_at_20ft tall) , was also opposed, but the city plans to
construct a new
dam (?!?!?!) that's much smaller since the city was named after the dam
(falls).
