Steve,
I used to hear stories, probably some of the same as you heard, about black
racers, and thought that they were all just folk tales. I remember, as a
young adult, taking a group of folks from up North snake hunting in my
original home state of Florida. I told them that black racers couldn't
REALLY jump clear off of the ground and that they wouldn't REALLY chase
you......... Oops! On that trip they all got to see a black racer chase me
and leap off the ground while trying to bite me.
Good reason to get into fish, don't you think?
