BG,
I have had great luck feeding them artemia napuli as a first
food. They can also take Moina/Daphnia napuli. I have never needed
greenwater as a first food. They are not picky. they are also the best
greenwater generators. They have been my source of greenwater for raising
Moina and Daphnia. So much so that I have considered sending small
goldfish with the Moina as a kit......

Several years ago I was corresponding with a gentleman in China (Dr. Sun
Honliang ?). His family owned a large goldfish farm that had been around for
several generations. He told me they raised huge quantities of daphnia for feed.
They used livestock manure, including chicken manure, to prepare the water
used to raise the daphnia.
