Jay:

A field survey data sheet is a heck of an idea. This is something
positive that we can do that could help "others" get an idea on what is
happening in some areas.

May I suggest that on the data sheet there are sufficient spaces for:

pH
TDS
water temp
air temp
clarity of water
substrate
variety of aquatic vegetation
fish species
other aquatic species
general condition of area sampled

This could be of great value to many in keeping and breeding the sampled
fish. This could also help us keep a close watch on the biotope we
are observing.
We could also report any degradation to the proper authorities and they,
hopefully, could take the appropriate steps to correct the problem. If
not there is always the local tv stations (they love this kind of
expose' type of reporting) . The PETA people know how to exploit their
agenda,
why can't we do ours in a positive fashion.

Leo
