Still trying to ID the shark. I did a little research at the hugemongus
museum collections that Dr. Smith runs (ran) at the U of Michigan campus at
the convention. I need to check the gut content to be thorough that this
did not swim all the way from the Atlantic in say 24hrs or so. I have a
stinking suspicion that it probably swam here via I-75. But officially, that
remains to be answered. We did try to capture more in the western basin
today at the conference. Only 18 other species of normal "Lake Erie fish"
(inside joke!). It
was a longnose gar weekend I tell you!
