Can anyone tell me if they have heard anything about the SVC virus that
apparently has now invaded the US. It is a virus which is supposed to infect
carp and goldfish as well as pike. It has caused such a concern that the I
heard "the govenment" has closed Blue Ridge Fish Hatchery and there are
federal hearings on what to do to prevent the spread of this around the
country. I also heard that Wisconsin has banned the import of all fish from
Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina. From what it sounds, this is
bigger than the West Nile scare that is getting all the press. Unfortunately,
this could have more devistating effects. Anyone hear anything?
