I've been waiting for one of you southern folk to organize a "noodling
extravaganza". That'd get me heading down south for sure!

I saw a documentary show on our local PBS affiliate last night, "Okie
Noodling". It's about fishing by hand for flathead catfish in Oklahoma.
Forget about hooks at all, just dive under water in your jeans, swim into a
mudhole, and let a 40 pound flathead bite your forearm so you can drag the
sucker out. I swear I saw Casper try that once with a riffle minnow in
Salacoa Creek, GA. Of course, fishing by hand is only legal in Oklahoma,
Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee, so discretion may be advised.
