It's a disc that is painted black and white ( 1/4 of disc white then black
and repeat again). It has a rope passing through it to lower it into the
water and some have weights on them to help get it into the water faster.
The rope has measurement on it to tell when you can see the disc as it is
pulled up from the bottom.
