I have heard of others that have gotten their Pickerels to eat non-living
food, but mine only eats live fish. I typically feed him a couple of
Goldfish or Minnows (which I get from a local bait shop for around $1.50 -
$2.00 a dozen.) every other day. I have a 10 gallon tank setup and I keep
my feeders in that. It allows me to feed them (which increases the
nutritional value) and thin out any sick fish.

I don't know of anyone that sells Pickerel. I collected mine locally. Once
spring gets here, I'll try and get some more. If I do, I'll put a note out
to anyone that wants one.

Ty,
Can you tell me more about how you feed your Pickerel?? I would like to
get
one. the minnesota muskie web site sells live fat head minnows for only $2
per pound and seems to use them to feed their muskie and northerns. but
they
do not do pickerel. they have other fish also. but where they sell the
fish
at about 25 cents per inch they also say they want $10 for a 2 inch fish.

I could NOT find any other hatcheries of interest using Yahoo on the web.
