Man, all this talk of dead stuff put me in the party mood! Dave Etnier had
his annual (post ichthyology class) Dead Animal Party last night. I'm sure
there was something there that could offend just about anyone! Let's
see....some of the things I sampled:
Sculpin scampi (a dish prepared by....you guessed it....Ed Scott) Ed also had
some fried greenside darters (not bad!).
Snapping turtle casserole
Road kill canebrake rattlesnake
prarie chicken
smoked cisco
the TN state record flathead catfish (95lb.) was consumed, in part....no, not
all by me.
Many various venison dishes...including one in mole sauce (no, not the
animal, the chocolate stuff)
Caribu sausage
various duck dishes
many other fish dishes
And, probably things even I didn't want to know about!
So far, I'm still alive (but I think the sculpins gave me gas...)
