Try my favorite movie of all time, LOCAL HERO (1983, I think), starring Peter Reigert and Burt Lancaster. It's about a Houston oil company executive sent to a picture-postcard Scottish fishing village to broker a deal to turn the village into a refinery. The movie is funny, charming, beautifully made, and has a very subtle (but strong) environmental theme.
