There are efforts being made to restore the grand kankakee marsh. A good
google search is (Jim Sweeney kankakee) I know Jim from the Izaak Walton
chapter I belong to, he's doing a lot protect, restore the river/marsh.
I live about 15 minutes north of the river in Indiana. The kankakee in
Indiana is a big ditch! It's supposed to be a lot more natural in
Illinois though. Anybody else interested in seining the Kankakee?
