I think "Gerber's Mixed Cereal" (in smallish boxes in the baby food section of your LGS) is the nearest easy-to-find modern equivalent. I've used it a few times as a substitute in fish-food recipes calling for Pablum, and as far as I can tell it's done the job.

(We had Rocks. Frozen. Uphill both ways, etc, etc etc.)
