I believe you mean Eisenia fetida, also known as
manure worms and used extensively in vermicomposting.
It just maybe that our fish were used to the taste of
them or that they were fed on something the fish don't
like. Normally fish acquire a taste for red worms
after a few feedings. I have listed a url which has
some pics of Eisenia fetida. There are literally
thousands of urls on this worm out there.
