Everyone is doing fine and adjusting smoothly. How about some more luck...
after my two male North Carolina Dollar sunfish made nests on there sides of
the divider in the 50 gallon, I decided to bring the female over from her 5
gallon and introduce her first to big " One Eyed Willy". He has been having
a tough time getting her down on the nest with only one eye, but since he is
the largest male, I figured he would get first crack at spawning. I don't
know if Mrs. Dollar is quite ready though, she has resisted his best
displays and dancing. I hope they are successful, since I have been trying
to get fry out of this strain of dollar for about 5 years, and something
always ruins it. Mr. Louisiana Dollar gave up his nest, or he would have a
female caller as well. Mrs. Louisiana is ripe with eggs. His tank is next
to the North Carolinas, so maybe he will get the picture and constuct a new
nest.
