Hi Moon,

These are large pumps that are PTO driven and tractor mounted.
They are used to pump the cranberries from the bog and onto the
tractor-trailers that take them to the processing plant. What we do is
stand on the flooded bog and rake the cranberries (they float) into a
receiving box that is connected to a long piece of hard suction hose.
The cranberries are then sucked through the pipe, into the pump, up into
a washing unit, and then down a grate into the trailer.
After the trailer is full, I usually hop onto the load and catch
up the frogs and any turtles that might have gotten through, and toss
them back onto the bog. Usually before I let them go back onto the bog I
tell them "Hell of a ride, Huh?"
