Chris,

Nah, only some of them. Between Mayden's library and the bookshelves in our
grad student office, I've got access to a tremendous amount of data (man,
this is the greatest job!). The REALLY scary thing is, I can remember fish
names like they're nothing, but five minutes after meeting someone I've
already forgotten their name...

David Starr Jordan (Father of North American ichthyology), while he served
as president of Stanford University, memorized a little information on every
student at the college. He did this for many years, until he realized that
for every student he was remembering, he was forgetting the name of a fish.
He immediately ceased this practice.

Glad to hear the lampreys are doing well... although does that mean that
we're going to have to change the name of the organization to NANFFLVA
(North American Native Fishes and Fish-Like Vertebrate Association)?

cheers,
Dave
