I agree with you on that, I have trouble IDing cyprinids in general ; they
can be very frustrating because some of them look so similar. I plan on
learning as much as I can about the cyprinids of my area as I can and
especially the really similar-looking ones; I don't want to accidentally
collect any threatened or endangered species! Regional variation of different
species is a pain too;while it makes for interesting variation within a
"species" it can also drive you nuts trying to satisfy your curiousity as to
what something is!
