Hi Dave, I'd be interested in a reprint of Mayden's review of species
concepts. My classes go into SCs this week, so I'm all whooped up on the
subject. The textbook I've been stuck using this year (Starr & Taggart, 8th
ed.) only mentions the BSC by name, which I think is pathetic. I run down
the ESC (better than in my post...) and also the Recognition and Cohesion
Concepts, a somewhat arbitary short list. Next year I'm definitely going
with the Campbell book! This species concept idea will be an ongoing debate
for a while to come, I don't think the true religion has been revealed yet.
I'm willing to admit I'm anchored in an older MCZ-style approach; I hope I'm
not mired in any approach.
