HI... I was reading about the Salmon in the Classroom
program, carried out by Alaska's DNR. According to
their webpage:
http://www.state.ak.us/local/akpages/FISH.GAME/sportf/region2/ie/classinc.htm

Almost all fish raised in classrooms are released
into landlocked lakes. The Department does not
encourage the use of salmon raised in the classroom
for stream enhancement purposes because of health
and genetic reasons. We want to maintain the
integrity of our wild Alaskan stocks!

These are Coho. How long can these salmon live in a fw
lake, and would they grow large enough to be suitable
as game fish?

There are some neat pictures of hatching eggs at
http://www.sf.adfg.state.ak.us/region2/iande/html/snapshot.cfm

thanks,
shireen
