Never seen them sold as bait, but they make mighty fine bait. Very long
lived on the hook. Long lived in the bait bucket too. Smallmouth like to
eat madtoms.

In an old edition of "Northern Fishes" that I have, the authors mention
madtoms being sold as bait. Has anyone ever seen or heard about this
anywhere else?
