The red sal must be Pseudotriton ruber, the Red Salamander. Four subspecies
(northern, southern, blackchin, and Blueridge) of which the latter keeps the
bright coloration in adults. That4s the one I will go for in spring.

federally, and not in KY, and TN. Or am I wrong?
There are some particularly interesting sals in the states along with all
that great NANF.
Where are you sited, like to go collecting together? A weird(s) trip I
suppose it would be.
