I reported last week that I was overwintering my fish in an area that
remained 40 - 50F. Well, we got down to zero this week and the temps in that room
got down to the mid-30's. I've counted at least a half dozen dead F.chrysotus
in my 200 gallon tub with an initial population of 100. All deaths have
occurred in the past 3 days while the temps have been so low. Guess that answers my
question as to how cold the F. chrysotus can tolerate for overwintering. So
far, I don't see other fish dying.
