Well if you collect flagfins breed them. They are the easiest and most
prolific minnow I have worked with (except flatheads). All I had to do was
winter them in an unheated tank in my basement 65-68 degrees. In the spring
when the water got to 72 they started spawning. They spawned almost daily
from June till Nov. when I put them back in the native community tank. The
fish in my tanks are now third generation.
