I believe in the health benefits of garlic as well.

I did use it as an apeptite stimulant for some lizards about ten years ago.
My rational was that it might make the meat I was using smell, ... more
"ripe", since this specie was said to feed on carrion as well. It worked
regardless of the reason, and after a few weeks the animals were downing all
sorts of food. Don't know if they had parasites, or just the stress of being
newly aquired. It did work well in that instance for me. I have not tried it
with fish yet.

Considering that in the wild fish, and herps for that matter, are getting
the gut contents of their prey captive diets are lacking.
