>>>This kind of "fish out of sky" or "rain of frogs" story falls into a
category called Fortean phenomena...
--Bruce Stallsmith<<<

Single fish falling from the sky (and damaging an automobile) was reported
by Frank Edwards in one of his books (check Stranger Than Science, Strangest
of All, Strange World). I think in one case the fish was frozen.

Herrings (like shad) are very frequently reported falling from the sky.
Again, check some of the Edwards books. Also see this excellent article
available on-line by one of the greatest students of obscure ichthyology
ever, E.W. Gudger:

Article was published in 1921 in Natural History and is a well-written
history of this fishy Fortean phenom.
