You didn't mention whether this stream has a
tennessee drainage or gulf drainage. It makes a big
difference in the species you can encounter. It would
be very big news indeed to find cardinal shiners east
of the mississippi, as they are found in the area
where OK, AR, MO and Kansas come together. Its a
pretty good sized minnow and most of the year it looks
pretty silvery. Take a pic of the shiners and minnows
and I am sure you can get them id'd for you pretty
quickly.

BTW, I apologize for not making the Big South Fork
trip, but my dw came home on friday and reminded me of
the benefits of being married and the project I had
promised to help her out with. It wound up requiring
most of the weekend.... I normally dont miss fish
trips.
