NANFA-- bullhead help

I was out in the marsh today catching some feeder fish for my pet gar. In a
culvert I came up with a net full of several dozen bullheads. They were all
yellows, one black and the one I need help with.

My best guess is it may be a hybrid between a yellow and a brown or black
( all three species are found in this area). It had a grayish body that
looked uneven in color. It reminded me of the mottling of a brown, but so
subdued and grayish. The lower barbels were white on the backs and black on
the front. The anal fin was somewhat between the shape of a yellow and a
brown. It was not shaped like a black, nor did it have the black membranes
in the fins.

Does anyone know if these three species of bullhead hybridize? If not is it
possible this one was a sport? I should have kept it to look at closer at
home but let it go with the rest of the 'heads.

Thanks,
Ray
