Well after my encounter with some sandhills hornets who felt I was attacking
their home yesterday (ugh), and my sarcastic note about the health of Ohio's
waters... My faith in nature has been renewed.

The mayflies are hatching! :)

And to make it even better, there's a strong wind from the north east so
Toledo proper is going to get dowsed. I can't wait to hear all the
complaining. But I'll just grin a grin of excitement because the dispersal to
"inland" ponds, streams and ornamental ponds will be fabulous this year.

I saw (preliminarily) 3 species on the dumpster shed. I'll have to grab some
specimens to key out later to see if they're sexually dimorphic. Hope no one
gets upset about the bugs in the freezer ;)

Ah the lake awakens after 80 years of human abuse.
